Thanks to all who make our events a success!
Thanksgiving Dinner Gatherings
We gather with Our Homeless Brothers and Sisters to give thanks for all we have. It's not Thanksgiving without a turkey and all the trimmings and believe me there is enough turkey for all. A sit down dinner with a table filled with all the traditional home cooked dishes including pumpkin pies. Father Robert Capone shared scripture and prayer over our Thanksgiving table last year.
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20
We offer Bible study to Our Homeless Brothers and Sisters for those that want to gain knowledge of The Lord, strength their faith in The Lord, or to grow closer to The Lord. We give new Bibles to all that attend. We offer a warm meal, a place for fellowship, and the ability to grow in the love of The Lord.
Christmas Day in the Park Celebrations
Christmas Day is meant for families, loved ones, and friends. This is the same whether you are homeless or not. We take every step imaginable to make sure Christmas in the Park is the same for Our Homeless Brothers and Sisters. We have individually wrapped presents with their name on the tag, handmade Christmas cards made by day care children from Lutheran Church of The Cross, stockings stuffed with goodies and a bible, new blankets, and a home cooked meal with the backdrop set by Christmas carols being played. Last year we were blessed with Monsignor Michael McKiernan from Mission Basilica Church come to do the blessing.
Shopping in the Park
Several times throughout the year we come together with Our Homeless Brothers and Sisters to distribute the basic needs items. We use this events to pass out clothing, blankets, sleeping bags, and hygiene products. The products distributed can change depending on the weather, season, and the needs of Our Homeless.
